Please note: The Foundation only funds 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, not individuals. If you are a veteran looking for direct assistance in transitioning into civilian life, we recommend contacting Illinois Joining Forces, a network of Illinois organizations ready to connect you to the right resources.
The Veterans Program uses a two-stage application process to review funding requests. All eligible organizations that meet the funding guidelines above are welcome to submit an initial application through our online system. After careful review, a subset of applicants is invited to complete a full proposal.
Review the information below to determine the level of funding for which you would like to apply.
Applications for grants $50,000 and under are reviewed during one of three cycles throughout the year, based on when the initial application is submitted. First-time applicants are strongly encouraged to apply at this level, as grants over this amount are typically reserved for organizations that have received prior funding.

Access an In-Progress Application for $50K or UnderEnter the log-in credentials you used to create/access your application. The email address/username you used to create your application was emailed to you upon saving it to our system. If you know your username but not your password, click on the ‘Forgot Password’ button.
