Application Procedures
Applications are available by invitation only.

Guidelines
Grant selections are made based upon applications submitted by organizations with 501(c)(3) status. Organizations applying for a grant should provide one or more of the services detailed in the “Primary Interests” section. Grants will range from $5,000 to $25,000. There is no guarantee of annual support. Generally, grantees will not receive more than three consecutive annual grants.

Primary Interests
School/Enrichment Programs – Nonprofit organizations that produce and/or support school programs that augment and/or enhance grades K-12 curriculum.

College Retention Programs – Nonprofit organizations that provide services to both assist students from the Greater Washington DC area in obtaining admission to post-secondary educational institutions and provide ongoing scholastic support that ultimately enhances matriculation and graduation rates.

Maryland: Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s Counties
Virginia: Alexandria, Falls Church, Manassas, Manassas Park, Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun,
Prince William and Stafford Counties

The McCormick Foundation does not make grants to programs that would financially benefit The Washington Post, El Tiempo Latino, or any of its subsidiaries.
