Molly Baltman, Assistant Director / Grantmaking

Molly Baltman is the Assistant Director / Grantmaking in the Communities Program, responsible for managing relationships with corporate partners and helping to develop, implement and evaluate grant strategies. Ms. Baltman leads the workforce development and child abuse prevention giving areas.
Before joining the Foundation in 2007, Ms. Baltman served as Executive Director of Archeworks for six years. Previously, she worked as a foster care case manager, then at the IDCFS Inspector General’s Office, concentrating on the Paternal Involvement and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren pilot projects. Ms. Baltman holds a MA from University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration, a BA in Human Ecology from Michigan State University, and was a 2009 International Women’s Forum Leadership Foundation Fellow.

Noreen Castor, Senior Development Officer

Noreen Castor is a Senior Development Officer in the Development Department of the Communities Program, responsible for working on fundraising campaigns with staff, partners and vendors to execute its 15 annual campaigns.
Prior to joining the McCormick Foundation, Ms. Castor spent five years at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Foundation where she managed its direct marketing fundraising program and created and led its hospital's employee campaign. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Management with a Marketing minor from Purdue University.


Sharon Cleghorn, Senior Program Administrator

Sharon Cleghorn is a Senior Administrator in the Communities Program, and has been with the McCormick Foundation for eleven years. Ms. Cleghorn provides grant evaluation and research on the grantmaking side and financial services and project responsibilities on the development side.
Prior to joining the McCormick Foundation, Ms. Cleghorn was a Marketing Manager at Amerin Guaranty Corporation for 10 years. She attended Indiana State University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and has a Professional Development Certificate from the Indiana University Center of Philanthropy.


Krista Dimberg, Administrative Officer

Krista Dimberg is an Administrative Officer in the Communities Program. Her primary responsibilities include: processing grant applications, entering applications, revising application forms, and preparing grant reports for review by grants committees and the President or Board of Directors.

Ms. Dimberg has been with the McCormick Foundation since 2005. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Education from Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois.


Tonya Jackson, Development Specialist

Tonya D. Jackson serves as the McCormick Foundation Communities Program’s Development Specialist assisting with the internal operations of the Development Department by maintaining the Raiser’s Edge database, managing revenue processes, financial reporting and reconciliations.
Ms. Jackson has over 17 years of experience in the nonprofit and public sectors. Previously, Ms. Jackson has worked on low income housing initiatives and family programs. Currently Ms. Jackson volunteers in her community working with youth mentoring programs.


Lesley Kennedy, Program Officer

Lesley Kennedy is a Program Officer in the Communities Program, responsible for managing the child/youth education and health and wellness giving categories. Since joining the Foundation, Ms. Kennedy has assisted fund partners to develop solid grant strategies to create strong relationships between the McCormick Foundation, fund partners and grantees.
Previously, Ms. Kennedy served as Executive Director of Chicago Girls’ Coalition for seven years. Her expertise is in youth development and non-profit organization management. Ms. Kennedy holds a Master’s degree in Social Service Administration from University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in English & Women’s Studies from Stephens College.


Bill Koll, Program Director

Bill Koll serves as the Director of the Communities Program, which partners with media outlets and sports teams in seven cities across the country, raising money for local needs and supporting programs that assist low income children, youth, and adults in their move toward self-sufficiency.

Mr. Koll began his career with the Foundation as a Program Officer in 1997. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mr. Koll spent four years as the Program Director for the Chicago I Have a Dream Foundation, a social service agency providing tutoring, mentoring, and scholarship programs for youth in low income communities. Mr. Koll holds a Master’s degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from DePaul University.


Jan Miller, Administrative Officer

Jan Miller is an Administrative Officer in the Communities Program, providing administrative grant and project management support to the Communities Program Director, Program Officers and Fund Partners.

Ms. Miller joined the Communities Program in 2005, bringing more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit and private sectors. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Miller worked in philanthropy at The Field Museum of Chicago. A native of Chicago, she resides in the city.


Lori Neumann, Development Officer

Lori Neumann is a Development Officer in the Development Department of the Communities programs, responsible for digital fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the Foundation’s fund partners. Her role includes online solicitation strategies, website content management and social media.
Prior to joining the McCormick Foundation, Ms. Neumann spent seven years at the American Cancer Society in marketing communications, where she created all fundraising communications to support the organization’s income development revenue stream which included 200+ Relay For Life events, 23 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks and 5 Walk & Roll events.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and English from the University of Iowa.


David Pesqueira, Senior Program Officer

David Pesqueira is a Senior Program Officer in the Communities Program. His responsibilities include managing relationships with corporate partners and assisting them to develop, implement and evaluate grant strategies in their communities. Mr. Pesqueira coordinates the Communities Program’s hunger and literacy funding areas, and is a member of the National Adult Literacy Network, a task force of the Council on Foundations.
Prior to joining the Foundation in 1993, Mr. Pesqueira worked at the Chicago Tribune Foundation, the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning, the Community Renewal Society and as a fellow with the Chicago Community Trust. Mr. Pesqueira holds a Bachelor’s degree in African American Studies and Latin American Studies from Brandeis University and is a co-founder of Chicago Latinos in Philanthropy, and the Latino Giving Circle, a donor-advised fund.


Kashif Shaikh, Program Officer

Kashif Shaikh is a Program Officer in the Communities Program. His responsibilities include managing relationships with corporate partners, and helping them develop and implement grant strategies in their local communities. He also leads the Communities Program’s homelessness and youth sports giving areas.
Prior to joining the McCormick Foundation, Mr. Shaikh spent three years at the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. Mr. Shaikh is also the co-founder of the Pillars Fund, a unique foundation that supports American Muslim nonprofit organizations. Mr. Shaikh holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the Ohio State University, a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University, and was a 2011 fellow at the University of Southern California’s American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute.


Jim Struthers, Chief Development Officer and Assistant Director of Communities

Jim Struthers serves as the Chief Development Officer and Assistant Director of Communities for the Communities Program where he oversees fundraising activity for fifteen partners across the country.
Mr. Struthers joined the Foundation in 2007, bringing experience in arts management, public relations, special events, and nonprofit development. Mr. Struthers moved exclusively into the nonprofit sector in 2000 working with The Foundation Fighting Blindness, National Director of Events; AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Director of Events; and the Lupus Foundation, Illinois, Development Director. Prior to the nonprofit world, Mr. Struthers worked in the public relations industry, managing accounts and projects in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Mr. Struthers holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Administration from Westfield University.
