The Exhibit Guide—designed for both educators and students—features in-depth information about each of the exhibits onboard the Freedom Express, along with links to related resources. We offer the guide so that visitors can preview exhibit content in advance of a visit, and then continue to explore it afterward.
For educators and students who are not able to visit the Freedom Express, the guide can serve as a resource to supplement a wide array of social studies units.
Suggestions for Educators Using the Exhibit Guide in Conjunction with a Visit
- Preview the Exhibit Guide in preparation for a Freedom Express visit. The Museum Map can also be used to help orient you and your students to the layout of exhibits.
- Instruct students to visit FreedomExpress.org/ExhibitGuide for independent or small group exploration in advance of a visit to orient students to the exhibit themes and content.
- After the visit, ask students to explore the guide independently or in small groups to facilitate a reflection exercise and/or jigsaw activity if they did not visit all exhibits while on board.
